Government slashes 200 TAFE jobs. ABOUT 200 Queensland TAFE staff will be offered voluntary redundancies, but the Government has guaranteed no campuses will close.
Department of Education and Training director-general Julie Grantham said in a statement all redundancies would be voluntary and would be offered in teaching and administrative areas where demand had fallen or where there was no ongoing requirement for the job.
"I would like to emphasise that there will be no impacts on administrative or teaching staff in areas where there is ongoing or increased demand for training," Ms Grantham said...
....But the cuts will impact on the following TAFE colleges: Tropical North Queensland, Barrier Reef, Mount Isa, Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast, Metropolitan South, Southbank, SkillsTech Australia, Bremer and Gold Coast.
